FAQs
About V-Commerce and How It Works
What is this new world of v-commerce all about? How does it work?
Who is the merchant of record on the transactions?
It depends on the type of transaction or service. For example, in fueling, it is the merchant. In tolling, it could be the tolling authority or another intermediary. In EV charging and parking, it may be Sheeva.AI, the merchant or a municipal government. The point is: Our solution is flexible on this.
Who handles your payments?
We are working with several partners globally in the payments space, but we could ultimately integrate with any existing payment rails or any partners' existing payments platform.
What makes you different than the contactless payment methods I know now, like QR codes and RFID or tapping/swiping cards at the point of sale?
We require one touch of the vehicle infotainment screen; no need to pull out your phone or a credit card. It’s especially useful in bad weather or questionable safety conditions, like in a dark parking lots.
It also saves you from infrequently placed or poorly operating hardware, like distant pay stations, broken payment systems on fuel pumps/EV chargers, or a jammed parking meter.
Sheeva.AI also provides a digital receipt rather than having to wait for a paper receipt.
Credit card and QR code fraud are also significantly reduced.
Our product suite makes it faster to pay compared to swiping/tapping a credit card or paying cash.
Is your tech only for EVs? What about ICE or other alternative fueled cars?
We are agnostic to the vehicle drivetrain. Our platform can be used for whatever fuel you need and we can activate it via API-to-API communication.
Our biggest need is connectivity and that depends on the automaker and the model year, but in general, we can enable any connected car.
What about other possible use cases?
If the use case you envision employs a service point that can accept a digital payment, we can activate it from inside the car and handle the payment. This is how we added car washes to our original use cases.
We currently are enabled for fueling, EV charging, parking, tolling and car washes, with QSR drive-thru, curbside pickup, and auto dealership services coming soon.
If you have a new use case idea, please reach out: https://www.sheeva.ai/contact-us
Do you work with fleets or fleet management platforms?
Yes. We see fleets as a key ecosystem partner in the future. We can integrate with any fleet management software or platform.
Who owns the data?
Our partners will own the data, although there may be future use cases or certain circumstances where Sheeva.AI may own some data.
What are your data security/protection protocols for this?
We are fully PCI compliant and have completed a SOC2 audit.
